Lila was born and raised in New Westminster, BC. She graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) from Douglas College. Lila also has her CDA Orthodontic Module. Since she moved to Salmon Arm 13 years ago, she has worked for Dr. Gerry Chu. Lila and her husband feel so fortunate to live in Salmon Arm. They love the community, the people and the outdoor opportunities (cycling, walking, camping and boating).
Allie was born and raised in Kamloops, BC. She graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from the Vancouver Island University College. She has a passion for running, soccer, crosscountry skiing, and exploring the outdoors.
Angie was born and raised in Abbotsford, BC. She had the unique opportunity to work on her Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA) during her grade 11 and 12 years of high school. As well, Angie has her CDA Orthodontic and Prosthodontic Modules. In 2004, she moved with her husband to Salmon Arm and she’s glad they did. They love summer with the nearby beaches and wintertime snow instead of rain.
Becky was born and raised in the beautiful Shuswap area. She started to work for Dr. Chu right out of high school as a basic dental assistant and while working, earned her Certified Dental Assistant certificate (CDA) through Open Learning (2001). She also has her CDA Orthodontic Module. When Becky is not at work she is spending time with her family: hiking, geocaching or dirtbiking.
Linda was born and raised in Trail, BC. She graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from UBC in 1975. Linda has worked in a Periodontal specialty office and since moving to Salmon Arm in 1977, she has worked for Dr. Chu. Linda also served as president of the Okanagan Dental Hygienist society. Besides spending time with her family, Linda enjoys golf, curling, skiing, walking, travelling and music. She is a member of the Salmon Arm Community band.
Rita was born and raised in Burns Lake, BC. She graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from UBC in 1975 (gold medal) and with her Bachelor of Dental Science in Dental Hygiene (BDSc) from UBC in 1997 (gold medal). Her career has included teaching assistant at UBC, practice in a Periodontal specialty office, and years of working in a general dental office. Rita has worked as a dental hygienist in Salmon Arm with her husband, Gerry since 1976. She has also served as president of the Okanagan Dental Hygienist Society. Continuing education has always been one of Rita’s priorities, with her husband Gerry an inexhaustible source of information! Salmon Arm has been the perfect place to work, raise a family (now including a grandchild), and play (golfing, hiking, mushrooming, skiing, gardening, bellydancing, and learning Italian).
Shirley grew up in Salmon Arm. She received her Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from NAIT and has worked as a CDA for 38 years. As well, Shirley has her CDA Orthodontic and Prosthodontic Modules. When she’s not at work, she’s is usually with one of her 3 daughters and her grandchildren, keeping fit at Bootcamp, attending Church or dabbling in cake decorating.
Diana grew up in the Pritchard area. She spent many years in the customer service business before coming to work for Dr. Chu as a dental receptionist. She enjoys people and in the office is happy to help book your dental appointments. Her family lives on a small acreage where they enjoy riding horses and motorbikes. In the winter they can be found on the ski hill with their snow boards.
Alison Hall has lived in Salmon Arm since 1982. She graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) in 1990, and completed her CDA Orthodontic Module in 1991, and her CDA Prosthodontic Module in 1997. She has worked for Dr. Gerry Chu since 1984, progressing from basic dental assisting, to CDA, to her current position of reception/administration. Alison has held provincial positions with the BC Dental Assistants Society and currently is co-organizer of the Thompson Okanagan Dental Convention in Kelowna. Alison and her family enjoy everything that makes Salmon Arm a unique and special community.
Eriko was born and raised in beautiful Golden, BC. She completed her Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA) in Calgary and moved to Salmon Arm in October 2014. She is loving it so far! Her interests include baking, hiking and reading.
Kelsey was born and raised in 100 Mile House, BC. She moved to Salmon Arm 2 years ago. Kelsey graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George in 2013 where she won the Award of Excellence for her clinical skills. In 2012, Kelsey had the privilege of going to Africa to provide dental hygiene treatment to those in need. In her spare time she enjoys running, yoga and hanging out with family and friends.
Bernice graduated From Malaspina College on Vancouver Island as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) in 1989. She also completed her CDA Orthodontic Module in 2004. Bernice gained her 25 years of experience in Lake Cowichan, Nanaimo, Edmonton and Salmon Arm. For the past 18 years she has called this beautiful area home, raising a wonderful family and enjoying gardening, boating and all the Shuswap has to offer.
